Tutor Time is a pre-college program hosted by the RPI Pipeline Initiatives Office. Part of the America Reads and America Counts Federal Work-Study programs - Tutor Time was established at RPI to help children learn for academic success. Held in a safe, encouraging environment, participation in the program increases student self-esteem and develops their confidence and a continued desire to learn. Since 1995, RPI college students have helped students in Troyl classrooms alongside their teachers. Since the fall of 2001, RPI students have been tutored children in grades PreK-12 in mathematics and reading and in other subjects every Saturday at various locations in Troy, currently on the RPI campus and at the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club. All children from the capital region are eligible to participate in the program.
